At ikon we are not the kind of agency that buys into the awards scene, no pun intended. Often awards are based on who pays for entry and who knows who on the panel. Clutch bases rankings on a number of factors. Mainly from client reviews who are verified via LinkedIn rather than a paid entry.
It’s always nice to recognise ikon as one of the top branding agencies in London. It could never have been possible without the support of our clients.
One-on-one interviews carried out on our behalf, to gauge our impact on their business. Under scrutiny was our services in regards to what we delivered. These included project management, attention to detail, cost-effectiveness, and overall quality. The result so far is top marks from each client review.
At ikon, we are proud to have been around for 10 years. In that time, we have worked with plenty of global brands. Westfield, Porsche, Oakley and F1 to name a few. The other end of the scale we have worked with startups from inception to build their brand.
The one thing that hasn't changed is we stay small and focus on quality. We don't want to be working with anyone, we want to be working with businesses that excite us. This always produces the best work. Work everyone can be proud of.
So it's very fitting we have recognised on a platform that judges you on your calibre and what clients think of you.
One of our recent clients was Rejuvi. They are a software to service (SaaS) startup delivering leadership development.
Reg, the co-founder has this to say:
“People are, quite frankly, blown away by the quality of our website design. It pops because of the beautiful brand, its look and feel, its graphic elements, the combination of colors, and the richness of the data we put out there.
What I love most is that we use so many different graphic elements: photography, custom graphics, a pencil drawing. They were able to weave it all together so you can look at our website and know that it wasn’t done with a standard website creation tool.”
It’s something we pride ourselves on that people come to us for a bespoke solution to a bespoke problem. Every business is unique and it needs to be expressed that way. It’s why we create a unique identity and a unique website, we don’t force solutions into pre-built templates.
As we are small and focus on a bespoke and personal service, we think and act more like a consultancy. We are here to guide you through a process, not force an opinion. We give reasoning to our design decisions and allow our clients to make the important decisions. That doesn't mean we won’t push back where necessary to challenge their thinking but ultimately ‘the customer is king’.
Reg goes on to say:
“We’d never been through this kind of branding thing before, so even though this was hard work, it was fun. There were moments throughout the process—whenever he saw us going in a direction he might've been concerned about—where he pushed us to think beyond what we knew and helped get us to a very different place.
He did it so gracefully, not saying we had to follow him because he was an expert, but just kindly point out different ideas and inform us about things.
When asked do you have any advice for potential customers? The response was:
“The first thing would be to be open, to be really open to not having all the answers. This firm is going to take you to places you never thought you could go, and you've got to be open to that.
The next client review is from Harita, the Director of Creative, Media, Comms and Events across Europe.
We have been working with Westfield for the past 5 years. Projects have included having artwork placed over all sides of the exterior facades across both London centres as the first job to test us. Since then it’s been a range of presentations, pitch decks all the way through to identities for events, full experiential graphics and full digital and printed campaigns.
One point of difference we see in remaining boutique is our flexibility and that is clearly illustrated when we talk to clients about slow turnarounds and red tape at bigger agencies:
“Retail is very fast paced and ikon have been responsible for turning around a high standard of creative in very short timelines.”
We are comfortable working closely with startup founders but on the flip side, fitting into communications with multiple levels of marketing teams. When asked the team composition:
“Mainly working with Alex Colley, the Creative Director who would instruct his team on projects where necessary. Alex works with a wide range of stakeholders within the organisation from the marketing managers, commercial team, CMO and pitch decks for the CEO.”
Part of how we set up ikon is we want clients to be safe in the knowledge they have one point of contact to manage the work. Not multiple lines of communication and the CMO dealing with a junior who has no authority to make big calls. It’s a personal approach that has cemented our position with Westfield over the years as a trusted partner.
A project that made the biggest impact on the business was:
“One was helping us create a pitch deck that aided us in securing one of the largest advertising deals in Westfield history. He has constantly helped us pitch to win new strategic partners.”
Due to our size and how we retain a calibre of client, our client roster is quite small but we ensure we are not overloaded to deliver on quality as that is what keeps people coming back to use us again and again:
“Regardless of what we have thrown at ikon, they have always delivered a high standard of work and personal service every single time.”
If you made it this far, it would be great to talk with you about how we can impact your business.
