Coronation Festival

Shaping a national event at Buckingham Palace

Brief

Working with Media 10, we were brought in to elevate the branding and ensure consistency across every touchpoint before and during The Queen’s Coronation Festival. A landmark event, and the first of its kind to be held in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

Solution

We led the creative direction across the event, defining how the brand was expressed at every touchpoint. From guides to signage and on-site graphics, each element felt considered, cohesive and appropriate to the setting. The event guides became the centrepiece, crafted as keepsakes that set the tone for the experience.

We worked closely with Media 10, who managed the event, while ikon defined and delivered the visual expression across touchpoints. From printed materials to environmental graphics, the focus was on consistency, clarity and a level of refinement expected within the grounds of Buckingham Palace.

Hand-drawn illustrations were commissioned to run throughout the literature, adding a distinctive layer of craft and reinforcing the sense of occasion. The result was a visual identity that felt both celebratory and considered, befitting an event that brought together Royal Warrant Holders including Bentley, Burberry, Jaguar and GSK.
